Is there really no upfront cost — what is the catch?
For qualified homes, there is no upfront cost: no deposit, equipment charge, installation fee, or financing. What you do pay is a monthly amount for the electricity the panels produce, at a rate set in your agreement before you sign. That is the whole model — we would rather you understand it than be dazzled by the word “free.”
Is this a loan? Does it involve interest?
No. There is no loan, no interest, and no interest-based financing. It is a power purchase agreement: you buy power, not money.
How does this fit with my faith?
The agreement is structured as a purchase of electricity — not a loan and not an interest-bearing instrument. We do not claim any religious ruling; we welcome you to review the agreement with your imam or advisor, and we will walk through it together.
