What disqualifies a home
We tell you straight if your home does not fit
Some homes are not a good fit — old roofs, heavy shading, very low DTE bills, or wrong orientation. We tell you in writing before signing — never push you to install if the math does not work.

Common questions
Honest answers, no fine print
Do I have to switch from DTE?
No. You stay a DTE customer for the grid connection — the panels offset most of your usage and DTE handles the rest. Net metering rules apply to excess production.
Will DTE raise my rates because I have solar?
DTE has fees that apply to solar customers (connection charges, etc.). We factor these into your written projection so the bill swing you see is realistic, not theoretical.
What if DTE has rate changes during the agreement?
The PPA rate is between you and Salam Solar — DTE rate changes affect what you pay DTE for any non-solar usage, not the rate you pay us for solar production.
Can I see a sample bill?
Yes. During your walk-through, we show you exactly how the new bill structure looks — one line from us for solar production, one line from DTE for whatever the panels did not cover.
